Karen joined GSD at the start of 2025 in the role of Chief Operations Officer.  She has been working in the Tasmanian IT Industry for over 30 years, in a range of roles primarily in Systems Integrator organisations, as well as doing a significant amount of work on various committee's and boards within both ACS and TasICT.  Karen is currently the Vice President of TasICT, and chair of the Industry Development Sub-Committee, specialising in government policy and procurement.

In 2009 she progressed into Sales and Regional Management roles, and has managed and grown some of the most high achieving sales teams and businesses in the IT Industry in Tasmania since then.  Her experience in these roles is quite broad and included P&L management, contract management, tender responses, office management, strategy setting, staff mentoring, stakeholder engagement and building a professional network for both her and her team members.

In parallel to her management roles, she has account managed a diverse range of customer verticals - government, large corporate, SME and education, which provided a solid baseline to be able to drive success across sales, services and operations.

She is passionate about supporting and driving a successful IT Industry in Tasmania, and is also on the board of St John Ambulance.
