Paula is a specialist in strategic communications, with more than 30 years’ experience in media, public relations and internal and external communications. She has experience across a range of industries including tourism and events, renewable energy and education. She has also driven the strategic communication for member-based organisations around advocacy, engagement and data-driven research outcomes.

What is your most memorable career highlight to date?
Influencing a shift in internal communications of two large Tasmanian organisations to online platforms that facilitate engagement and feedback within the business. 

What do you believe to be the key to success in your field?
Listening and learning from your audience. Gather feedback, iterate, and don’t be afraid to try something new.

What do you use as a source of inspiration for your work?
Influencing successful change – whether it be a leader’s approach to communication; a positive shift in employee sentiment; or better outcomes for the social, economic or environmental future of our community.

In your view, what’s the best thing about working with GSD?
Our focus on better outcomes for the Tasmanian community and our drive to make a positive difference for the future.
